# Introduction

> Decodo /map endpoint overview: URL discovery, sitemap handling, path filtering, and pricing.

/map returns a list of every URL found on a website - from its sitemap, the links on the page you submit, or both - without scraping the content of each page. Use it to see what's on a site before you scrape it, or to pick the exact pages you need.

## Key features

* **One request, every URL** - get up to \~147,000 URLs in a single response.
* **Synchronous** - results come back in the same response, no polling.
* **Sitemap + page links** - URLs from the sitemap and the submitted page are merged into one list, with duplicates removed.
* **Path filtering** - include or exclude URLs with regex patterns.
* **Domain scope** - keep only the main domain, add subdomains, or include external links.
* **Built-in anti-bot handling and geo targeting** - map sites that block simple crawlers, as they appear from a specific country.

`/map` and [**/crawl**](/docs/web-data-api-crawl-quick-start) work well together: use `/map` to see a site's structure and decide which paths you need, then run `/crawl` with `select_paths` to collect only those pages.

## Pricing

A `/map` call makes one request to fetch the page you submit, plus one more request to fetch the sitemap if the sitemap is included. Each request is priced per 1K requests, and the rate depends on your plan size. See the full rate table on the [**Billing**](/docs/web-data-api-billing) page.

## Quick start

1. **Sign up** - activate the free plan or choose a paid plan from the dashboard.
2. **Copy your API key** from the [**dashboard**](https://dashboard.decodo.com/).
3. **Send a request** with the URL you want to map.

See the [**Quick Start**](/docs/web-data-api-map-quick-start) guide for the full walkthrough, and [**Parameters**](/docs/web-data-api-map-parameters) for sitemap, path filter, and domain scope options.
