# Introduction

> Decodo /scrape endpoint overview: content extraction, target templates, response formats, and pricing

Get the content of any page, or structured data from supported sites like Google, Amazon, and TikTok - in one request. `/scrape` handles proxy rotation, JavaScript rendering, and anti-bot protection, so you get clean results without maintaining scraping infrastructure.

## Key features

* **Any URL, or a target template** - scrape a raw page, or use a built-in template for structured output from Google, Amazon, Walmart, TikTok, YouTube, and more.
* **Multiple response formats** - HTML, Markdown, JSON, or a screenshot, depending on what you need.
* **Three request modes** - synchronous for single pages, asynchronous for slow or high-volume jobs, and batch for many URLs at once.
* **JavaScript rendering and browser actions** - render JS-heavy pages, and automate clicks, scrolls, and form input before scraping.
* **Geo-targeting** - request from a specific country, with standard and premium proxy pools.

If you need search engine results instead of a specific page, [**/search**](/docs/introduction-2) returns them faster. If you need every page on a site, see [**/crawl**](/untitled-page-2-2-2) and [**/map**](/parameters-2).

## Pricing

`/scrape` is priced per 1K requests, and the rate depends on your plan size, the proxy pool (`standard` or `premium`), and whether JavaScript rendering is enabled. LLM templates (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Mode) have a flat rate on every plan. See the full rate tables on the [**Billing**](/docs/web-data-api-billing) page.

## Quick start

1. **Sign up** - activate the free plan or choose a paid plan from the dashboard.
2. **Copy your API key** from the [**dashboard**](https://dashboard.decodo.com/).
3. **Send a request** to the `/scrape` endpoint - as a raw URL, or with a [**target template**](https://help.decodo.com/docs/web-scraping-api-targets) for structured output.
4. **Choose a request mode** - synchronous, asynchronous, or batch - depending on your volume. See the [**Quick Start**](/docs/web-scraping-api-quick-start) guide for a full walkthrough.
